IdentiShield

How to protect your ID card before sharing a copy

When someone asks for a copy of your ID (rental, hotel, gym, bank), sending it as-is exposes your number and data to fraud or identity theft. IdentiShield lets you protect it in seconds, without the image ever leaving your device.

Why you should not send an unprotected ID

An ID copy contains your number, date of birth, signature and, on the back, the MRZ band with all your data in machine-readable text. That is enough to attempt identity theft.

Step by step

1. Open IdentiShield and pick the document type.

2. Take a photo or pick one; the app detects edges and straightens it.

3. Hide or pixelate sensitive zones (number, signature, MRZ).

4. Add a watermark with recipient, purpose and date.

5. Export to image or PDF, with no EXIF/GPS metadata.

FAQ

Is it safe to send my ID over WhatsApp or email?

Only if protected: hide the number and MRZ, add a watermark with recipient and purpose, and strip metadata. IdentiShield does all three on-device.

Does the app store my ID?

No. Processing is 100% local; the image and number are never uploaded or stored.
